Spring at Spring Barn FarmFriday 15 February 2013
Hello Kingstonians, from Louise, Mike and Tom
Lambing, hosts of golden daffodils, eggs and chicks and the start of longer, warmer days (hopefully!) ...it’s fair to say everyone down at the farm is starting to get a ‘Spring’ in their step!
Mothering Sunday is bound to bring with it some March madness, enjoy a day out in the Farm Park; MUMS GO FREE on Sunday 10th March, when accompanied by another full paying person! Meet the lovely lambs and ewes, and maybe even get the chance to help bottle feed some of the orphans. We are also pleased to announce that KC the great children’s entertainer will be here performing magic and balloon skills – not to be missed, fun for all the family!! Then why not treat Mum to lunch with our special Mother’s Day menu - see our website for full details (pre-booking advisable, please call 01273 488450).
Lambing continues into the Easter holidays, and we will be racing our three miniature pigs: Crosby, Stills and Nash! They have been in training for the last couple of weeks, testing out the jumps. Then on Good Friday-Easter Sunday we will, of course, be running the ever-popular Spring Barn Easter Hunt: look for the items on the list and fill up the egg box, and get a chocolaty treat at the end!
Many fantastic new products in the shop too: we are now stocking The Longman Brewery’s ‘Long Blonde’, a light coloured golden ale with a distinctive hoppy aroma and crisp clean bitterness on the finish - smooth light and refreshing! In the Deli counter, you will now also find Brighton Blue, from High Weald Dairy: a delicious, semi-soft cheese with a mellow blue flavour and fragrant aroma. Then for all you tea drinkers out there we are proud to announce the arrival of Suki Tea - simply THE best loose-leaf tea you will find – available to drink in our farmhouse kitchen restaurant and to buy in the shop to brew at home. This is real tea as it should be, fragrant and full of flavour. We are all hooked – a staff favourite is the peppermint: extremely refreshing!
Our latest Gisela Graham range is also available, featuring beautiful silk spring flowers, Easter decorations, and country kitchen ceramics. And don’t forget, we are now selling a selection of newspapers daily from 9 am, call us or pop by to order yours in advance.
See you soon!
